We Play Here Nationwide Campus Tour Kicks off at UP Diliman

Warner Music Philippines, in partnership with KDR Music House and UP Ad Core, celebrated music diversity as they brought We Play Here’s first campus tour stop in Luzon at UP Diliman last August 23, 2024.

Starting the festivity is rising band Kahel, performing music covers of “Miss Miss” by Rob Deniel, “Raining in Manila” by Lola Amour, and their songs, “Diwata,” talking about seeking affection from an experienced lover and closes their set with “Beh, Buti Nga” a song on redemption over a betrayal.

One of the event’s first-timers, Letters from June, charmed the crowd next with their rendition of trendy hits “Maybe the Night,” “Patawad, Paalam,” “Shining,” and “Wag na Tayong Umuwi.” They ended their set with their single, “Bituin,” about giving your all in love but receiving none in return.

Meanwhile, the six-member band Sugarcane serenaded the audience with “Paruparo” and “Kung Maging Akin Ka,” with special guest Gian Bernardino for “Pagbigyan.” At the earlier press conference, the group mentioned wanting to collaborate with Cup of Joe if given a chance.

Staying true to their self-identity is soloist Paul Pablo, who performed their songs “Atin ang Gabi,” Marahuyo Project’s track “Di Inakala,” and “Sagi,” speaking about how it feels like to be in a “situationship.”

International headliner Griff took the stage on keys with an emotional take on her songs “Vertigo” and “Miss Me Too.” The Chinese-Jamaican soloist tugged more heartstrings with her personal favorite “Astronaut” and country pop rendition of her tracks “Anything” and “Shade of Yellow.” Raised in an isolated household that drove her to write songs, Griff continues to make waves in the music scene as a frequent front act for massive artists Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa. Griff is also opening for Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet US Tour starting this September 2024.

Next up is singer-songwriter Arthur Miguel, who delved into love and heartbreak with songs like “Ghinost,” “Ang Wakas,” “Malabong Ugnayan” with Jikamarie, “Lihim” and “Maling Panahon.”

Player Two kept it cool and took their hip-hop roots and swag to the stage. They also jammed with artists Oliver Cronin for “That’s My Baby” and FELIP for “Flyyy”.

Still basking in their emerging success, We Play Here’s second-timer Dilaw wows the crowd by performing their hits “Maskara,” “Janice,” “Uhaw,” and their latest synth-pop track “Nilalang.”

Wrapping up the fun and music-filled night is Warner Music PH’s newest addition to the family and rising soloist, Stell. Shying away for the meantime from his group SB19’s limelight, Stell enchanted the UP crowd and his fans with songs from his first EP, Room – “Di Ko Masabi,” “Anino,” “Room,” and “Classic.”

We can’t wait to find out the next campus We Play Here is heading to next!
